Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard linked up for the opening goal as Arsenal battered Ipswich on Easter Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side cruised past The Tractor Boys in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri and a Leandro Trossard double.
The latter in Trossard was the man to get the Gunners going on the day. It was a rather untidy goal, but hey, they all count.
Trossard reflected on his double in his post-match press conference.
Martin Odegaard seemingly got the feintest of touches before Trossard finished for the first on the day, something the Arsenal captain was sure to make known immediaitely.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Trossard was asked as to whether Odegaard is going to claim the assist, to which the Belgian forward responded: “The first thing he [Odegaard] said was ‘thankyou for the assist’.”
"That's the first thing he [Ødegaard] said: 'Thank you for the assist'" 🤣

Just before this, he spoke about both goals. Trossard said: “The first one was a scrappy one, I get my foot to it and it goes in.
“The second one was after another short corner where we did it very well. We played out so quick and then the ball got to me and I put it in the back of the net.
“But yeah it’s nice to be on the scoresheet again and helping the team to get the win.”
Trossard’s happiness to score a double for the first time in the league this season also reflected in his post-match social media post.

It was definitely said as a joke in the moment, but it actually isn’t a bad thing to have players that are hungry for numbers.
Now, thanks to the assist officially being credited to the Norwegian – he’s on five assists in the Premier League this season. This still puts him way off top spot, however.
Odegaard’s creativity is still worth it’s weight in gold for Arsenal – albeit if this one of the most untidy assists he’s ever had in a Gunner jersey.
