Bruno Fernandes sends three-word message to ex-teammate after Liverpool lose at Anfield, he’s loving it

Manchester United fans had an enjoyable Saturday after the team won 3-0 away at Southampton.

After losing the early kick-off against Brighton three weeks ago, Manchester United fans knew instantly the weekend was ruined. It didn’t get better the following week against Liverpool.

This week against Southampton was more like it. United had the game wrapped up by half-time, and cruised to a 3-0 win. Why can’t it always be that simple?

There was only one way the day could get better. Arne Slot’s Liverpool slumping to a 1-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest.

Anthony Elanga assists Forest win

Liverpool’s defeat was even sweeter from a Manchester United perspective because academy graduate Anthony Elanga had a hand in it.

Elanga supplied the pass for Callum Hudson-Odoi’s winner, with Forest pulling off a surprise away win to move up to fifth in the table.

The Sweden international expressed his happiness on Instagram after the win – and received a message from former Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes wrote: “That assist man” along with applause emoji, showing his admiration for his ex-colleague’s contribution – which sunk Liverpool in the process.

Against Southampton, Fernandes provided the assist for United’s breakthrough first goal too, his second of the season.

Gary Neville toasts perfect day

United legend Gary Neville was more open about mocking Liverpool’s defeat, having had to put up with jibes after the Red Devils were beaten at Old Trafford in the last game.

Neville shared an Instagram story reel where he toasted: “Well… what a football weekend! United win, Salford win and the big one Liverpool lose! Oh dear beautiful weekend!”

His mood is reflective of how United fans are feeling, and judging from Fernandes’ positivity on social media, the players are buzzing with their own result too.

Elanga also wrote Fernandes a message on his Instagram page, which wrote simply: “General 🪄”.
