The tactician explains why the South Africa international was absent in Rise and Shine's fixture against Usuthu.
WHAT HAPPENED?
South Africa international Oswin Appollis has been heavily linked to Kaizer Chiefs in the ongoing transfer window.
The Glamour Boys have been restructuring across all departments and the versatile attacker is seen as a worthy addition to the squad.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
In his recent interview, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. conceded contact had been made regarding the player.
The 23-year-old was not part of the Polokwane City team that defeated AmaZulu 2-1 in the Premier Soccer League outing on Saturday at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
There were speculations that the attacker had already agreed to join the Nasreddine Nabi-led team but coach Phuti Mohafe had other explanations.
WHAT MOHAFE SAID
"Oswin is alive, Oswin is here,” Mohafe responded to the media after being asked about the whereabouts of the versatile attacker.
"He didn’t play, he was in the national team. So we have to rest him, we need him more going forward."
WHAT NEXT?
The transfer window is set to be closed on Friday, September 20 meaning clubs have limited time to get their targets.
It will be interesting to see if the Glamour Boys will add the attacker to their team after his move to Algeria fell through.
