One of Arsenal’s striker targets could be on the move very soon.

The Gunners have had an excellent window so far. They’ve sold Emile Smith Rowe for good money and have loaned out Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga already.

To add to that, David Raya’s loan was turned into a permanent deal and Riccardo Calafiori has been signed from Bologna. Mikel Merino is on the verge of joining Arsenal too.

Mikel Arteta has a really strong squad at his disposal now, but what would make them the favourites to win the title would be a prolific goalscorer.

Victor Osimhen is a target and he could be that guy for Arsenal.

Fabrizio Romano shares latest on Victor Osimhen after he was left out of the squad

Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli this summer.

The Nigeria international is one of the best strikers in the world, and it is actually a bit of a surprise that there aren’t many clubs queuing up to sign him.

Antonio Conte has confirmed that Osimhen will be allowed to leave in this window, and a number of clubs have been linked with a move to land him, including Arsenal.

The Gunners could do with a new striker this month after their main target, Benjamin Sesko, rejected a move to Arsenal in June.

Osimhen is reportedly a key target.

It has been claimed that Arsenal are ready to pay what Napoli want for Osimhen, but the striker has already agreed personal terms with PSG, who are ready to pay him more than the Gunners.

Amid all the speculation, Napoli left Osimhen out of their side for their game against Girona on Saturday. He wasn’t even on the bench.

Fabrizio Romano further claimed on X that “Napoli and Osimhen’s camp keep working on solutions for Victor to leave” before the window shuts.

It remains to be seen where he will end up.

Napoli have slashed Victor Osimhen’s price tag

One of the biggest reasons why clubs aren’t queuing up to sign Osimhen this summer is because of his massive release clause.

CalcioMercato claimed that Napoli were hoping for that clause to be triggered so that they could pocket €150 million (£127m) in one go.

However, after no club showed any interest in paying so much, the report revealed that Napoli have slashed their asking price.

The Partenopei are now prepared to evaluate offers worth €100 million (£85m) for the ‘world-class‘ Osimhen.

That makes him a lot more affordable this summer, and if Arsenal can get him, we think they will become the favourites to win the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season
