Arsenal supporters are now debating the club’s potential move to sign Dominic Solanke in this summer transfer window.
Arsenal’s search for a new striker this summer has now taken another twist.
The Gunners have already explored a number of options, and have been linked with many potential acquisitions in this part of the pitch.
Arsenal were pushing to sign Viktor Gyokeres, having already been linked with Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, amongst others. They also missed out on Benjamin Sesko earlier this summer.
Mikel Arteta is clearly keen to bolster his attacking contingent, despite already having Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to call upon to lead the line. Whilst that duo both have their qualities, neither are the most prolific of centre-forwards.
Bringing in a striker who can reliably find the back of the net could make all the difference in the Premier League title race this time around.
As such, the North London club have now pivoted to a new target. Arsenal now want to sign Dominic Solanke, who has a £65 million release clause. However, the Gunners may well face competition from their bitter local rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of the Bournemouth star.
As this rumour has emerged, many Arsenal supporters have taken to X to share their thoughts on Solanke.
One fan said: “As an arsenal fan, I would absolutely prefer Solanke. I think we’ll get 25 for Eddie and I think we could get Solanki for 60… I would take it.”
Another stated: “I just want a striker, even mateta or Solanke I go take them at this point.”

One supporter claimed: “To be honest it wouldn’t be a bad move at all.”
Another chipped in with: “Solanke is worth around that, especially for Bournemouth and how valuable he is for there team. Solanke scored the same amount of goals in the league last season as Nketiah has scored ever in the PL Eye-opening stat.”
Deviating from the subject slightly, one fan added: “Looking at the prices mentioned for Solanke, I think Arsenal should seriously consider loaning Nketiah out to a PL club. If he has a big season then we’d get a mammoth fee for him next year.”
It seems that Arsenal have turned to Solanke due to Sporting’s asking price for Gyokeres. However, there is a chance that the Gunners’ sporting director Edu has manufactured this apparent interest in Solanke in order to send a message to Sporting.
Fearing that Arsenal could be set to take their business elsewhere, the Portuguese outfit may be convinced to lower Gyokeres’ price tag.
