Arsenal have already got £30m transfer blueprint amid Marseille bid for Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 this summer with Marseille making a low bid

It's going to be a big summer for Arsenal in terms of incomings. The Gunners have already made David Raya's loan move from Brentford permanent, while Riccardo Calafiori has arrived from Bologna for a fee of up to £42million.

They have no intentions of stopping there either. "We know there are certain positions that we want to improve and give the squad better resources in terms of numbers where we are short," Mikel Arteta told reporters in LA. "We will try our best"

A midfielder is on the agenda with Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino among the targets being looked at. The Gunners would also like to add a forward player to the ranks.

Equally crucial for Arsenal this summer though, are the outgoings. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have both left the club on loan deals that have purchase clauses included. Youngster Mika Biereth has also bought in a fee from his permanent move to Sturm Graz.

Perhaps the most high profile sale so far though has been Emile Smith Rowe's move to Fulham. The Gunners have gained an initial £27million for the England international, with a further £7million in add ons. football.londonalso revealed the deal contains a sell on clause of over 10%.

It's a fantastic piece of business considering that Smith Rowe started just four games in all competitions last season. Within the club it's been viewed as a deal that suits all parties. As Arsenal look to continue to sell players this summer, it has to now be the blueprint.

Eddie Nketiah has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, but Marseille have made the most front-footed move to sign him as things stand. It's a move that the 25-year-old is open to, with the chance to work under Roberto De Zerbi viewed as particularly appealing.

However, reports have suggested the French side intend to propose an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €20million. While it would undoubtedly be a great move for Nketiah who would surely clean up in Ligue 1, it would represent a terrible piece of business for Arsenal.

Although Nketiah is arguably Arsenal's fourth choice striker behind Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard right now, the 25-year-old is still a player who should attract a decent fee in this market. He is England's under-21 record goalscorer and has a good record of scoring when he starts matches. To add to that there are a host of other teams including Wolves and Crystal Palace who have looked at the Hale Ender.

As Arsenal look to bring in a forward this summer, there may be a temptation to move Nketiah on to create space in the squad. The Gunners should be wary though, that any offer has to be the right one in order to let the 25-year-old leave. Having sold Folarin Balogun for around the £30million mark last summer, Arsenal should be looking to get at least that for Nketiah who can go on to have a successful career away from the Emirates Stadium. Accepting an offer as low as the one Marseille are reportedly putting forward, would be a poor decision.
