Arsenal should make clear £65m transfer demand amid Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak decisions

Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a transfer to Marseille, but the French side only want to pay £20million to sign him

Arsenal have plenty of business still to do in the summer transfer window. The Gunners have secured the permanent services of David Raya and brought in Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.

But apart from a couple of young goalkeepers, that is the only incoming business they have done. They are in the market for a midfielder, with Mikel Merino heavily linked, while a forward is also on the wishlist.

There are several players who could still head out of the Emirates Stadium exit too. Emile Smith Rowe completed a move to Fulham, while Mohamed Elneny, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Cedric Soares and Nuno Tavares have also departed.

There remain question marks over a number of others, namely Eddie Nketiah. Marseille have been credited with an interest, but that has only gone as far as a potential £20million bid.

Arsenal are holding out for closer to £30million and there is an argument the Gunners could demand more than that even, particularly in the current climate. football.london takes a look at the other strikers in the Premier League linked with a transfer this summer...

Alexander Isak

Isak is the top striker linked with an exit this summer and it seems unlikely he will leave Newcastle. Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Swede as they look to bolster their attacking options.

His £100million-plus price tag has put the Gunners, and others, off, but that valuation is wholly justified when looking at his numbers.

Isak has spent the last two seasons in the Premier League and has notched 35 goal involvements in that time. His time on the pitch works out at a goal involvement every 108.3 minutes - almost one per game. Not bad at all.

Ollie Watkins

Ollie Watkins was in imperious form last season for Aston Villa, notching double figures for goals and assists.

He would be a dream signing for Arsenal and it would be his dream to turn out for the Gunners too. That move is not going to happen this summer though, although in the future who knows?

Over the past three seasons, Watkins has had a goal involvement every 141.2 minutes, with last season's figures helping that number out immensely.

Ivan Toney

The Brentford striker is another who has been linked with a move to north London, although interest appears to have cooled in recent weeks.

Toney only has one year remaining on his current contract and has been tipped for a move for £50million, although he will leave the Bees for free next summer.

He only returned from a gambling ban midway through last season and averages a goal involvement every 155.5 minutes over the last three seasons in the Premier League for Brentford.

Dominic Solanke

Solanke enjoyed a fine season for Bournemouth last time out, almost helping the Cherries to a top-half finish in the top flight.

He has only had two really regular seasons in the Premier League, having helped Bournemouth to the Premier League from the Championship in 2021/22.

In those two seasons though he averages a goal involvement every 177.3 minutes - some way off the three mentioned above. He has a £65million release clause at the age of 26 with three years left on his contract.

Eddie Nketiah

Then we come to Nketiah. The Arsenal man, unlike the rest of the players we have mentioned, is not a regular in the starting lineup.

Nketiah has to feed off scraps and minutes here and there. He averages just 989 minutes on the pitch in each of the last three seasons - 11 full matches per season.

With little time on the pitch, he has managed a goal involvement every 164.9 minutes. Could he improve that with more regular game time, or would it diminish? That's the big question everyone wants answered.

But he currently has a better goal involvement ratio than Solanke, who is being touted for a £65million move. He is also a year younger than Solanke. So Arsenal could, within reason, stand firm on a higher value, particularly given the English transfer premium.
