Crysencio Summerville completed a move to West Ham United over the weekend and it will see the Dutch ace work under Julen Lopetegui, who is a big fan of a player now being linked with Leeds.
Summerville, 22, completed a £25m move to the Hammers over the weekend with add-ons set to be included and potentially take it north of £30m, if he meets certain targets and wins a Netherlands cap.
The winger’s exit has seen Leeds take their lump sum of cash received from the club’s seven sales this summer to north of £80m. Now, Leeds are expected to use some of that cash on some new signings.
Already, Daniel Farke has made it clear he would like a new midfielder and another full-back having already signed Jayden Bogle. One player Leeds are being linked with is Wolves defender Hugo Bueno.
If Leeds are targeting a full-back, the chances are it will be a left-back given Sam Byram is right-footed and Leeds lack a left-footed option to cover Junior Firpo. Wolves’ 21-year-old ace Bueno is exactly that.
It is claimed Leeds are eying a loan deal for the Spaniard, who played 25 times for Gary O’Neil’s side last term. Celtic and Feyenoord are also keen, while Norwich City have seen a bid rejected for the defender.
Lopetegui worked with Bueno at Wolves while Molineux manager. He said, while employed by Wolves, that Bueno was a player with big potential and praised the young left-back on Wolves’ YouTube.

“He’s young, but he’s very balanced in his character and in his skills, in the defensive and offensive phase. He has improved more in both phases of the play,” Lopetegui said in January 2023, on left-back Bueno.
He has the profile of player, if you ask me, that he is going to improve. He is very professional and he wants to learn in his daily work. this is the first step to improve in the next years,” Loptegeui added.
Compare this Leeds squad to last summer, and Farke has his side in a much-better position than 12 months ago. The squad are only lacking a couple of options and a little bit of depth here and there.
That is despite seven sales, five leaving on loan and more departing on frees. Four signings that include Joe Rodon permanently is not enough though, even with Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson back.
With five days until Leeds get going again, The Whites are looking to make an addition or two in a number of different roles. Perhaps, Leeds could have a couple of new faces on board by Saturday.
