Leeds United’s pursuit of Jonathan Rowe could give Nottingham Forest a transfer lift this summer.
Nottingham Forest have made six signings so far this summer and they don’t seem prepared to rest on their laurels.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is still keen to add further additions and is in the market for a wide player, with Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez linked.
They’ve also been credited with an interest in a Leeds attacker and the Championship outfit are now trying to sign a player who plays in his position…
Nottingham Forest News ran a report in June about the club’s £16.9m bid for Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto.
The bid was evidently rejected as The Whites are looking for around £35m to even consider the sale of the Italy international.
Though, Leeds are now trying to sign Jonathan Rowe from Norwich City who plies his trade in the same role.
So if he were to join, could their stance on Gnonto soften somewhat?
Only time will tell but clearly Forest’s chances of landing his signature would increase.
If Forest were to reignite a deal for Gnonto, his potential arrival would perhaps be the pick of the bunch out of their summer business.
The 2003-born was shortlisted for the Golden Boy award in 2022 which amplifies just how highly thought of he is.
Whilst he struggled with regular game time last term, he still managed to net nine times whilst laying on three assists playing off the right – his unfavoured role.
Gnonto is much more effective operating as a left-winger, so Forest could unlock his lofty potential by deploying him there.
