Jhon Duran’s winning goal for Aston Villa against Everton on Saturday evening will go down in the legendary books.
For years and years to come, Aston Villa fans will talk about Duran’s sublime long-range goal, with Unai Emery’s side picking up a vital three points.
Amid Duran scoring another winning goal for Villa, it needs to be noted that the team did very well to come back from 2-0 down and win 3-2.
Everton, who for the second game running have let a 2-0 lead slip, were under the cosh for large parts of the game, but their opening two goals were as clinical as anything.
Their opening goal came after Amadou Onana was dispossessed in his own half and Dwight McNeil then arrowed the ball into the bottom corner, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled his team’s lead.
Onana made a club-record transfer from Everton to Villa in the summer, but by the half-time break, he was subbed off by Unai Emery.
Another ex-Evertoninan in Ross Barkley came on in his place and the former Luton Town star faired very well once again in Claret and Blue colours.
When the Duran goal went in, from the stands to those on the touchline, they were left gobsmacked by what they had just seen.
It’s crazy enough that the 20-year-old had the audacity to pull off a shot from so far out, but to then beat England international Jordan Pickford in between the sticks was even better.
Footage emerged from a Villa fan on Twitter, who was sat behind the goal, as to how Onana reacted when that ball riffled into the top corner.
And it’s fair to say the midfielder reacted and had the facial expressions of the majority of people inside Villa Park because it was one for the ages.

Watkins netted a brace against Everton and ended his goal drought, so he is back up and running.
Villa are in Champions League action next week, with several mouthwatering ties to look forward to, including a home tie against Bayern Munich.
There are plenty of games to come for Emery to, not only use the duo together, but swap and start them.
