Arsenal will host Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium for a Premier League clash on Wednesday evening.

This is a must win game for the Gunners, as they need to maintain their recent momentum in order to stand any chance of chasing down current league leaders Liverpool. The gap between the two clubs already stands at nine points, and Arsenal cannot afford to hand the Reds any opportunity to extend their advantage further.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side will face a tough test against the Red Devils. Ruben Amorim has inspired an upturn in form since his appointment and will be keen for a statement victory early on in his tenure.

Bukayo Saka has sent a warning to Manchester United, though, promising that Arsenal will be at their best. If the North London outfit can produce the standards they are capable of then they ought to collect all three points.

Chris Sutton backs Arsenal against Manchester United

Former Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton certainly expects Arsenal to keep their winning run going against Manchester United.

Looking ahead to the game for BBC Sport, he has offered his prediction for how the match will pan out.

Sutton said: “We have seen some classic games between these teams down the years, but Arsenal are a long way ahead of United, especially now Odegaard is back – he has taken them to the levels we were expecting from them all season.

“It would be a real eye-opener if United go to Emirates Stadium and get something, but I can’t see it. Arsenal have scored a lot of goals in the past week and that should continue here. They will win, and win well. 3-1.”

Martin Odegaard key for Arsenal vs Man United

Arsenal missed Martin Odegaard whilst he was injured earlier this season, as Arteta’s side lacked creativity in the final third without the Norwegian playmaker on hand to knit attacking moves together.

Odegaard worked hard whilst he was sidelined to prepare himself to hit the ground running upon his return, and that extra effort has paid off as the 25-year-old has been in magnificent form recently.

The midfielder has the capacity to pull Manchester United apart, and the Emirates Stadium faithful will be expecting to see him shine on Wednesday.
