Sixers vs. Cavaliers: Final playing status for Dean Wade in matchup

PHILADELPHIA -- As the Philadelphia 76ers prepare for their home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night, they will be looking to build off the success they had in New York as they beat the defending champs to spoil ring night.

The Sixers will have their full starting lineup of LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe as the home crowd gets to see the new stars on the home floor, but as far as Dean Wade, his status has officially been revealed.

After being listed as questionable due to a left ankle sprain he suffered in the preseason finale, the Sixers say Wade will miss his second straight game.

The Sixers will look to get the job done against a Cavaliers team that reached the Eastern Conference finals in the previous season. Cleveland also swept the Sixers in the 2025-26 season so Philadelphia will be looking to make another statement in its home opener.
