Luka is BALLIN'!
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic put up a mesmerizing 52 points, while also hitting a whopping eight 3-pointers, to lead his team to a 132-123 win Sunday over the Utah Jazz.
In a 14-5 run that put the Lake Show ahead, Doncic finished with two consecutive 3-pointers that gave the Lakers a 127-121 advantage with 1:42 remaining.
Doncic also put 10 assists and seven rebounds on the stat sheet. His teammate, Austin Reaves, scored 29 points for Los Angeles. Combined, the duo was 21-of-24 from the free-throw line.
Nights like this are exactly why Luka Doncic was brought to Los Angeles, and games like this prove why this team is suddenly terrifying.
Sure, the Utah Jazz aren't exactly the 1996 Chicago Bulls, but putting up 52 points with surgical precision when the game is hanging in the balance is elite no matter how you want to put it.
What's even more encouraging for the Lakers—and frankly, straight up spooky season for the rest of the Western Conference—is how seamlessly Austin Reaves is stepping up as the co-pilot.
When you have a duo that has Reaves scoring 29 points alongside a 50-point masterclass, while shooting virtually automatic from the charity stripe, that's a hell of a one-two punch.
Needless to say, the Lake Show really are going to be a show this season ... I've got my popcorn ready.
