Pakistan pulled off a remarkable one-wicket victory over England in the fourth match of the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series in Lahore on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Shadab Khan struck an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls to rescue Pakistan from 154/9 while chasing 242, combining with Haris Rauf to produce a match-winning last-wicket partnership.
The result secured Pakistan’s place in the tri-series final, while England suffered another setback after failing to defend a total of 241.
Pakistan appeared to be heading towards defeat after losing nine wickets for 154 runs in their pursuit of England’s target. With the required total still some distance away, Shadab found himself with only one partner left at the crease.
The Pakistan all-rounder responded with a composed yet aggressive innings, remaining unbeaten on 113 from 96 deliveries. His knock included 12 fours and four sixes, helping Pakistan stay in contention when the match seemed beyond their reach.
Shadab also survived a crucial lbw decision after a review revealed an inside edge, allowing him to continue his innings and eventually reach his maiden international century.
Haris Rauf played a crucial supporting role in the dramatic finish. The pair added an unbeaten 89 runs for the 10th wicket, the highest last-wicket partnership in a successful ODI chase.
Rauf remained not out on seven as Pakistan reached 243/9 in 47.1 overs, completing the chase with one wicket remaining. He struck the winning boundary to finish a partnership that transformed the contest.
The stand highlighted Shadab’s ability to manage the chase under pressure, while Rauf’s contribution ensured Pakistan could capitalise on the opportunity.

Earlier, England had posted 241 all out, with Ben Duckett providing the innings’ biggest contribution. The left-handed batter scored 105 off 111 balls, keeping England competitive after wickets fell around him.
Sam Curran added 42, but England were unable to build a substantially larger total. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling effort with four wickets for 46 runs.
England’s bowlers initially appeared to have done enough to secure victory. Jamie Overton claimed three wickets, while Liam Dawson took two, reducing Pakistan to nine wickets down. However, they could not break the final partnership.
The victory gave Pakistan three wins from three matches and confirmed their place in the final. England, meanwhile, suffered their third consecutive defeat and faced a more difficult route to qualification.
The result will be remembered for Shadab’s unbeaten century and the decisive last-wicket stand. Pakistan looked beaten at 154/9, but the pair’s resilience turned the match into a dramatic comeback and delivered a crucial win in the tri-series.
