The Delhi state cricket team is expected to make multiple changes in their playing combination for their third match of the ongoing 2026-27 Ranji Trophy fixture, which will be against Jharkhand, starting tomorrow in Ranchi. According to the latest updates, Navdeep Saini, Delhi's one of the key bowlers, is all set to miss the Jharkhand match.
Experienced fast bowler Navdeep Saini is likely to miss the match against Jharkhand because of an injury setback. The fast bowler has reportedly a hamstring injury, which could keep him out of the match. The match will be crucial for Delhi, as they are yet to get their first win of the campaign.
Apart from a decision on Navdeep Saini, the Delhi cricket team management could make several changes in their playing XI for tactical reasons. They most probably will like to utilise the pitch in Ranchi by deploying multiple spinners in their bowling attack.
Kishan Sarkar, a PTI journalist, claimed in his 'X' post on Sunday, October 25, that the Delhi team management is all set to hand left-arm spinner Aman Chaudhary his First-Class debut match against Jharkhand.
Aman was reportedly impressive in the net sessions; thus, the management may want to take a chance by naming the teenager in the playing combination. If he comes in the team, then either Divij Mehra or Money Grewal could be dropped from the playing eleven.
In case the teenage left-arm spinner Aman Chaudhary joins the team, then Delhi could face Jharkhand with these three spinners in their line-up: Hrithik Shokeen, Aman and Sumit Mathur. Skipper Ayush Badoni will also be there to support them with his part-time bowling skills. Among the all-rounders, the skipper can utilise Priyansh Arya and Ayush Doseja as well.
Who will be the replacement if Navdeep Saini misses the match? According to Sarkar's claims, in place of Saini, Delhi could name Simarjeet Singh. Simarjeet Singh played against Bengal in Kalyani for the first-round match of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season, but the right-arm medium pacer went wicketless in both innings of the match. Delhi dropped him in the following match.

Talking about Delhi's previous two matches, they went down against Bengal in an away match by a massive margin. Bengal won the match by 9 wickets. In the next round, Delhi had fair chances to outshine Gujarat in Delhi. In the high-scoring match, Priyansh Arya was dismissed for 199 runs, missing out on his First-Class double century by one run.
With Arya's standout batting, supported by the skipper Ayush Badoni's 217 and Sumit Mathur's 92, Delhi set a massive total of 648 in their first innings. Gujarat replied with 479 runs in their first innings. Navdeep Saini took a wicket in the match, bowling 23 overs. The match eventually ended in a draw.
