The Green Bay Packers were widely lauded in the NFL draft community for selecting edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton in the fourth round of April's draft, and as every week passes, the pick looks better and better.
Through six games, Dennis-Sutton is enjoying a tremendous start to his rookie season.
According to Next Gen Stats, Dennis-Sutton has 21 total pressures, ranking second among rookie edge rushers (trailing only David Bailey's 29) and 24th among all players. He's produced 21 pressures on only 97 pass-rushing snaps, giving him a pressure rate of 21.6 percent. That number ranks third among ALL edge rushers with at least 80 pass-rushing snaps and trails only Trey Hendrickson and Dallas Turner entering Week 7.
Over the last two weeks, Dennis-Sutton has 11 total pressures, a sack and a 24.4 percent pressure rate.
Per Next Gen Stats, Dennis-Sutton's 21 pressures are the most by a Day 3 pick through the first six games of a season since at least the 2018 season.
How good is a pressure rate of 21.6 percent? Micah Parsons finished his first season with the Packers at a 20.2 percent pressure rate, and only two players with 50 or more pressures in 2025 had a pressure rate of at least 20.0: Parsons, and Will Anderson Jr. (20.0).
In the lead up to the draft, Dennis-Sutton was seen as a polarizing prospect, with some believing he had first-round talent, and others seeing a Day 3 player. The NFL agreed with the latter, and Dennis-Sutton -- despite testing like an elite athlete after multiple productive seasons at Penn State -- dropped all the way to the Packers at No. 120 overall.
But it appears the NFL overthought Dennis-Sutton as a prospect. He looks explosive, slippery and disruptive as an edge rusher. Can he develop into a consistently great pass-rusher? It's too early to say one way or another. Offensive tackles will adjust, and if he continues disrupting, teams will send more blockers his way. But Dennis-Sutton is off to a terrific start as a rookie, and his production through six games has made him an early and obvious candidate as one of the best picks in the 2026 draft.
