New Zealand National Cricket Team fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has made a cheeky remark about Virat Kohli’s dream of reaching 100 international centuries ahead of the upcoming five-match ODI series against the India National Cricket Team, starting on November 4 in Auckland.

Kohli currently has 86 international centuries and is chasing Sachin Tendulkar’s legendary world record of 100 centuries in the international arena, but Jamieson jokingly said that the Indian batting superstar will not reach the milestone during the New Zealand tour. Earlier, Virat Kohli tells Harry Kane 'You deserve it' after Ballon d’Or win despite heavy backlash.

The five-match ODI series will also mark the return of star players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill. With Kohli and Rohit having retired from T20Is and Tests, their performances in the 50-over format will be closely watched as India prepares for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027.

Recently, Kyle Jamieson was asked whether Virat would reach the 100-hundred mark by the ICC ODI World Cup 2027, and the tall fast bowler jokingly suggested that it was not something New Zealand needed to worry about during the upcoming ODI series.

Jamie'son was quoted as saying by Revsportz, "Well, I don’t think he can get here on this tour, so that’s… don’t have to worry about too much.” Amid this, Abhishek Sharma praises 'selfless' Sanju Samson for letting Vaibhav Sooryavanshi open.

However, Jamieson praised Kohli’s incredible talent and fitness. The New Zealand bowler believes that the former India captain can continue playing for several more years because of his outstanding skills and fitness.

The New Zealander said, “He could probably just go on and on. In terms of where his skill level is and where his physical body is at, you could probably keep playing for a number of years. When you get sort of world-class talent, right, they don’t ever sort of lose it.”

Jamieson and Kohli were teammates at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the 2021 IPL season, giving the Kiwi star a close look at the Indian batter. He feels that players of Kohli’s class do not lose their ability easily and can continue performing at the highest level for a long time.

The fast bowler added, “As long as he’s putting on an Indian shirt or an RCB shirt or whoever’s shirt he’s putting on, I’m sure he’ll be right at the top of his game.”

Last chance to see them: Kyle Jamieson’s emotional remark on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma

The upcoming ODI series will be the last appearance for both Kohli and Rohit on the New Zealand soil, and Jamieson, who would miss the final two T20Is against India to prepare for the 50-over games, said that it would be a special moment for fans, and he is excited for the series.

Jamieson signed off by saying, “I just think it’s great for the fans, right? Probably the last chance to see them on home soil, and for those of us that get to share the field with them, it’s always special no matter the team or the part of the world that you’re playing in. So, no different this time, but yeah, it’d be nice to go toe-to-toe again on home soil.”
