The Las Vegas Raiders have not been pleased with the performance from veteran guard Jackson Powers-Johnson. In recent weeks, sophomore Caleb Rogers has taken over the starting right guard job. That's remained the case despite Rogers' struggles. At Wednesday's practice, rookie Trey Zuhn III received some first-team reps with the starting offense.
It certainly feels like the Raiders are looking for all solutions but Powers-Johnson. The former Oregon standout is signed through next season (2027) on his rookie contract. That could make him a target for others before the NFL trade deadline. We've identified three potential teams the Raiders could trade Powers-Johnson to.
The Los Angeles Chargers were recently named a potential suitor for Powers-Johnson via an ESPN article. The 0-6 Chargers probably won't be buyers at the deadline, but Powers-Johnson represents a unique opportunity. He could be a solution for their woeful issues at guard, and he's signed through next season, meaning he's not a half-season rental.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were also named in Jeremy Fowler's article. The Jaguars sit atop the AFC South and look like legitimate postseason contenders. They could improve the interior of their offensive line, where a third-round rookie (Emmanuel Pregnon) and two league-average starters (Robert Hainsey and Ezra Cleveland) are currently playing.
The Green Bay Packers have survived issues across their offensive line all season long. Things just got worse, with a serious injury to center Sean Rhyan. This Packers O-line could definitely benefit from acquiring Powers-Johnson as they compete for a playoff spot in the NFC North.
