With Tyrone Tracy now on injured reserve, Cam Skattebo appears poised to dominate the Giants' backfield. Can fantasy managers trust him? There are some concerns.
Looking at the Giants' backfield two-dimensionally, we see Skattebo and ceiling-capped Devin Singletary. Skattebo is coming off a dominant performance in Houston. Presumably, the fantasy universe makes sense again.
The Giants lead the NFC East at 4-2-1. The Eagles look almost finished, and the Commanders are barely hanging on. The Cowboys' defense can't slow down many teams (except the Eagles and Commanders mentioned above).
This is a unique year for the Giants, who, despite losing their supposed franchise QB, are mounting a serious postseason run. Skattebo, of course, is one of the keys, especially with Tracy on IR and Najee Harris unable to recapture his early-career success.
I believe this team will be buying at the trade deadline, and adding a running back will be a top priority. Skattebo's injury history, playing style, and fumbling issues make him riskier than most starting RBs. This franchise might not get another chance to win its division in the near future. This is the time to go for it.
Skattebo's fantasy value is sky-high, and we'll know in the next two weeks if it'll stay that way.
