Aston Villa will be without three players for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Fulham at Villa Park.
Amadou Onana (ACL) remains a long-term absentee, while Matteo Ruggeri (thigh) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (hamstring) are still at least a few weeks away from making a first-team return.
After making nine changes for Wednesday’s EFL Cup fourth-round defeat at Bournemouth (3-0), Unai Emery is expected to revert to the same strong lineup that began the 2-1 Premier League victory against Manchester City last weekend.
Left-back Ian Maatsen is likely to be the sole survivor in defence as Matty Cash, Victor Lindelof and Pau Torres are all expected to earn recalls, while first-choice goalkeeper Zion Suzuki is set to replace Marco Bizot.
Joao Gomes should also retain his starting spot in midfield and Boubacar Kamara is expected to play alongside him, replacing Leon Goretzka.
Emiliano Buendia will hope to continue in an advanced central position, but Emery may prefer to start Johan Manzambi, with captain John McGinn and Alysson operating out wide. Alejandro Garnacho, meanwhile, must settle for a place on the bench once again.
Nicolas Jackson has scored four goals in his last four Premier League games – and seven in 11 appearances since joining Villa in the summer – and is expected to start up front at the expense of 17-year-old starlet Brian Madjo.
