49ers’ Fred Warner fined $65,673 for two hits vs. Commanders

Fred Warner’s fine total keeps climbing.

The NFL fined the 49ers linebacker $65,673 for two plays in San Francisco’s Week 6 win over the Washington Commanders, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Warner was fined $17,911 for a hit on tight end Chig Okonkwo, a play that drew a flag before officials picked it up. Warner was also fined $47,762 for use of his helmet on a play that was not flagged.

It is the second time this season the league has hit Warner twice in one week. After San Francisco’s Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals, the NFL fined him $41,793. The larger piece of that was $23,882 for use of his helmet. The other was $17,911 for a hip-drop tackle that went unflagged in the game. Warner had a career-high 17 tackles in that game.

That is four fines and $107,466 through six games. The $17,911 for the Okonkwo hit matches the amount of his Week 3 hip-drop fine.

Per Spotrac, Warner has been fined $170,857 in his career.
