Most high school football players dream of eventually committing to the college they've been a lifelong fan of.
Very few get the opportunity to do that. However, that's not the case for Battle Ground Academy (TN) senior Bo Bryan.
The son of country music star Luke Bryan, Bo announced his commitment to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday, Oct. 25. Georgia was the first Power Four program to offer him a scholarship on Oct. 20.
"It meant everything to me and a dream come true when I got that offer," Bo told USA TODAY. "I always knew that if I ever got the offer, then that's where I was going to be."
247Sports ranks Bo, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound signal-caller from Franklin, Tennessee, as a three-star prospect in the 2027 class. The site ranks him as the No. 143 quarterback prospect in the cycle and the No. 69 player in Tennessee.
Playing for the defending Division II-AA champions in Tennessee, Bo played well above that ranking in his first season as a starter for the Wildcats.
Through seven games as a starter, he led BGA to a 6-1 record completing 74% of his passes for 2,006 yards and 30 touchdowns to just three interceptions. Unfortunately for Bo, he broke his collarbone on the first drive of BGA's 35-0 road win over Pope John Paul II (TN) on Oct. 16.
Four weeks earlier, Bo set a career high in passing yards and touchdowns in BGA's 41-36 win over rival Franklin Road Academy (TN). That night he passed for 409 yards and six touchdowns and then took a trip to Athens the next day for Georgia's blowout home win over Oklahoma.
A week later, Bo set a new career-high with seven touchdown passes as the Wildcats crushed Davidson Academy (TN) 56-7.
With Bo's commitment, he joins a Bulldogs 2027 class that 247Sports ranks as the ninth best in the country. The group of now 25 commitments is headlined by McKeesport (PA) five-star running back Kemon Spell and East Lincoln (NC) four-star tight end Jaxon Dollar.
Bryan isn't the only quarterback with a famous last name to commit to the Bulldogs this cycle. Colton Nussmeier, the brother of former LSU standout quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, has been committed to Georgia since June 5.
