Pakistan pulled off a stunning one-wicket victory over England in a dramatic ODI thriller at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, thanks to Shadab Khan’s heroics on Sunday (October 25). The ODI Tri-Series match witnessed one of the most unbelievable finishes, as England players celebrated what they thought was a victory before Pakistan turned the game around in sensational fashion.
Pakistan were struggling badly while chasing a target of 242 runs and had lost nine wickets for just 154 runs. With the match slipping away, Shadab Khan produced a remarkable fightback and kept Pakistan's hopes alive in the ODI Tri-Series match against England in Lahore.
However, a controversial dismissal in the 45th over created a shocking situation that made the match unforgettable for both the players and fans at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Actually, Shadab Khan was batting on 97 when England fast bowler Gus Atkinson trapped him in front of the wickets.
The umpire immediately raised his finger, giving the Pakistan all-rounder out leg before wicket (LBW). England believed they had won the match by 20 runs, and the television broadcast briefly displayed England as the winners.
The England players started celebrating their victory, while several players, including Joe Root and captain Harry Brook, approached a disappointed Shadab to shake hands. But Shadab had one final chance to save his team from defeat. Earlier, Haris Rauf, Will Jacks involved in heated exchange during Pakistan's thrilling win vs England.

As the star all-rounder was walking back, Shadab went for a last minute Decision Review System (DRS) review. The decision changed everything though as UltraEdge replays showed a clear spike with the ball hitting his bat before his pad.
In a shock for England, the on-field decision was overturned, giving Shadab a lifeline and bringing him back to the crease to loud cheers from the Lahore crowd. He made England pay for the missed opportunity by completing his maiden ODI century. Amid this, Gus Atkinson bowls a peach to dismiss Babar Azam.
He remained unbeaten on a brilliant 113 and took complete control of the chase when Pakistan needed him the most. His fearless batting turned a near-certain defeat into a historic victory. The Pakistan all-rounder also received incredible support from number 11 batter Haris Rauf.
The pair put together an unbeaten 89-run partnership for the 10th wicket, setting a world record for the highest 10th-wicket partnership in a successful ODI run chase. Their brilliant effort helped Pakistan cross the finishing line with just one wicket in hand against England.

Shadab's unforgettable innings and his brave decision to review the dismissal turned an almost impossible situation into a historic Pakistan triumph in Lahore on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Shadad was named Player of the Match for his heroics against England in Lahore. The all-rounder said that his brilliant innings felt more special because Pakistan won the match, and he praised Haris Rauf for his crucial support during their match-winning partnership.
Shadab Khan said, as quoted by Cricbuzz, “Obviously, you only enjoy an innings when the team wins. So, I'm very happy that I played that inning and we won the match. I think Haris deserves more credit than me because, obviously, tailenders at that position are always keen to hit sixes. The way I was guiding him, or he was guiding me, we managed to put together a good partnership.”
