Andoni Iraola could address one of Liverpool's issues by bringing in a familiar face in the January transfer window. It's been a disappointing start to the season for the Reds, who sit ninth in the Premier League table.
The Spaniard's side suffered their first league loss of the season this past Sunday after falling to a 3-0 defeat by Manchester City at Anfield. The damaging result left Liverpool with just two wins in their opening six games - a return that has left fans frustrated.
Such frustration could be partially solved by the Reds investing further in their squad in January. A potential - yet shocking - return route for Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged, while Iraola has been made aware of the price tag of a key target.

Real Madrid's reported interest in Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro could result in Alexander-Arnold's exit and possible return to Anfield. The England international has started just three of Madrid's eight league games this season, with Jose Mourinho preferring summer signing Denzel Dumfries on the right side of defence.
According to SER Deportivos, the La Liga giants were previously interested in signing Porro before the Spaniard signed a new contract at Spurs, resulting in them acquiring the Dutch international from Inter Milan.

Porro - who was part of Spain's World Cup-winning team this past summer - is reportedly seeking to understand whether Madrid's interest in him remains, given Barcelona are said to have enquired about his services.
Should the 15-time European champions sign Porro, that could pave the way for Alexander-Arnold to leave the club and clinch a stunning return to his boyhood club. The Reds have struggled to replace their former star, with Conor Bradley hampered by injury and Jeremie Frimpong failing to impress since his £30m move last year.

Iraola has yet to settle on a regular midfield at Liverpool, but could find himself reunited with Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. The England star was a summer target for the Reds, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Cherries remained steadfast in their desire to keep the 23-year-old.
However, the Premier League side have eased their stance on Scott after discussions with his representatives, with a sale now an option if a club steps up with a bid of £100m. Iraola was Bournemouth manager when Scott joined the club in 2023 and played 89 times under the Spaniard.
According to BBC Sport, the Reds are said to be in a strong position despite the intense interest in the midfielder. Scott is set to be out of action until November due to a thigh injury he aggravated whilst playing for the Three Lions in their 7-0 win over Croatia earlier this month.
