Brewers fans say they’d give up cars, cats and kidneys for a World Series win

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WMTV) - Wisconsin sports fans have a busy weekend ahead, with the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers all in action. But the biggest storyline is the Brewers’ 2-0 lead in the World Series after Saturday night’s win.

WMTV’s Audrey Marr asked fans at American Family Field what they would give up for the Brewers to win the World Series, and many did not hold back.

Responses ranged from vacations to pets to vehicles.

“I’d give up vacation for the next 10 years,” one fan said.

“Give away our cats,” another said.

“I would give up the rest of the Badger football season this year,” one fan said.

“I would give up all my stuffies,” a young fan said, adding, “Yes, everything.”

One fan offered his car outright. “What would I give up? To win the World Series, I give up my car. You get my car. You betcha.”

Another fan listed multiple belongings. “My car, my home, my wardrobe, my personal life, all my purses.”

Others offered more extreme trades, going a bit further than material possessions.

“Everything, my life, my parents,” one fan said.

“Kidney. Yes, my left kidney,” another said.

One fan tied the offer to a timeline. “I won’t drink for a year. If they win the World Series, that’s a lot. That’s a lot for me.”

Another fan pointed to the Packers, who dropped their first divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, 20-17. “We already gave up the Packers season, so it’s fine.”

A 43-year-old fan reflected on the team’s championship drought. “This is a once in a lifetime. I’m 43, and the last game was before I was even here, so pretty much anything. Coffee. Did I just say that? That’s a lot.”

One fan referenced the Brewers’ 44-year wait for a title. “I would trade a Packer loss for a Brewer win tonight easily. It’s been 44 years and I would give anything for a World Series win.”

What’s next for the Brewers

The Brewers will return to action Monday night at 7 p.m. central time for Game 3 down at Tropicana Field.
