Yan Diomande has recorded stronger numbers than Vinicius Junior in two attacking areas for Real Madrid this season, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The Cote d’Ivoire international has been more clinical in front of goal and has completed more dribbles per 90 minutes than his Brazilian team-mate.
Diomande has scored three goals from 13 shots, while Vinicius Junior has found the net once from 28 attempts. The figures give the Ivorian a higher conversion rate over the period covered.
There is also a clear difference in their success in one-on-one situations. Diomande is averaging 5.11 successful dribbles per 90 minutes, compared with 2.99 for Vinicius Junior.
Those two statistics highlight Diomande’s attacking contribution, although they do not by themselves provide a complete assessment of either player’s overall influence on Real Madrid’s play.
Real Madrid will next face FC Barcelona in the Liga Clasico on Sunday evening.
