Juan Carlos Ferrero will return to the ATP coaching circuit in 2027 and has already signed an agreement with a new player whose identity will be revealed on November 9, the coach announced in an interview with Eurosport.

The Return to the Tour

Ferrero stepped away from his role alongside Carlos Alcaraz on December 17, 2025, ending a partnership that yielded multiple Grand Slam titles and the world number one ranking. Since that departure, the Spanish coach has committed to his next project on the professional circuit.

“Right now, my goal for next year is to be on the tour,” Ferrero said in his interview with Eurosport. “I can already say that I have a closed agreement with a player. On November 9, it will come to light. Right now I cannot give details. Who it is going to be, whether I would like it or not…”

Speculation Surrounding the New Partnership

The coach declined to confirm whether young Spanish prospect Rafa Jódar is his incoming player. While acknowledging that coaching exceptional talent remains a primary objective, Ferrero dismissed immediate links to world number one Jannik Sinner.

“Pass,” Ferrero said regarding Sinner. “That is something I keep to myself. Perhaps in the distant future I can say it. But right now it is not a possibility.” Reports from The Times indicate that Sinner is set to be coached by Magnus Norman, who previously worked with Stan Wawrinka.

The November 9 announcement will mark Ferrero’s official return to the benches of major tournaments for the first time since December 2025.
