Gary Neville has suggested Manchester United manager Michael Carrick could be dismissed after the club’s 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth in the eighth round of the English Premier League.
The loss extended Manchester United’s winless run to eight consecutive matches and left them 16th in the league table with seven points.
Former Manchester United defender Neville said the club’s supporters liked Carrick and viewed him as “one of their own”. However, he also argued that the club’s owners and sporting leadership had seriously let Manchester United down.
The defeat by Bournemouth leaves Carrick facing further uncertainty over his position as the club continues to struggle for results.
