Kylian Mbappe reveals his 'really bad habit' before every game that he can't give up

Kylian Mbappe has revealed his secret football habit which he struggles to change despite describing it as "really bad".

Mbappe scored twice in Real Madrid's 4-1 win over Sevilla at the weekend, taking his tally for the season to 11 in all competitions.

The Frenchman will be looking to continue his fine goalscoring form on Wednesday when Los Blancos host RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe discloses the bad football habit he is unable to get rid of

But before the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, Mbappe has revealed a tradition he continues to have despite it not being something he recommends to upcoming young footballers.

In an interview with Onze Mondial, Mbappe reveals that he plays without insoles in his boots even though he knows it's "not a good thing to do".

Mbappe has been insole-less since he was youngster making waves at Bondy at the age of six and called it an "old reflex".

Mbappe said: “A secret about me? There are a million secrets about Kylian! The whole point of a secret is that you don’t reveal it, right?

"A football secret… I have a really bad habit, it’s not a good thing to do, but I do it anyway: I play without insoles.

"So, to all the kids out there: don’t take out your insoles! Keep them in! I made the mistake of doing that when I was a kid, and I’ve played without insoles ever since I was little.

"Even though I have the best boots now, and there’s absolutely no reason for me not to use insoles, it’s just that old reflex from my days in Bondy: I still take them out, even in my custom-made boots!"

Kylian Mbappe's new boot deal is a game-changer

Mbappe entered a contract with Nike when he was just eight years of age and continued to swear the swoosh brand during his ascension to one of the best players in the world.

He became one of the faces of Nike's football product and had his own signature boots with the Mercurials.

However, after nearly 20 years of association with Nike, Mbappe's deal came to an end and he entered free agency.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star quickly announced his next move though, signing a game-changing deal with Swiss brand On.

After a successful entry into running and other sports, football is the next big splash for the brand and they secured Mbappe's services on a reported 10-year deal.

Thierry Henry has been brought in as the brand's 'Director of Football' and Mbappe will also serve as a global ambassador who also has a financial stake in On as well as a lucrative sponsorship.

The first boots are planned to be released in 2027 but Mbappe has been wearing them on the pitch, debuting the cleats in France's win over Turkey where he scored the winner.

They are only protoypes at this stage, with Mbappe central to the testing of the all-new LightSpray technology that he has helped develop.
