Toyota Racing won the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) manufacturers’ crown on Sunday with a dominant one-two victory in the 6 Hours of Barcelona, the penultimate round of the 2026 season.
In difficult conditions at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Toyota won for the fourth time this year to secure its eighth manufacturers’ title.
Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa were victorious in the #8 Toyota TR010 Hybrid, extending their lead in the drivers’ standings. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries completed a perfect day for the team by finishing second in the #7 TR010 Hybrid. With one race to go, they are 17 points behind their teammates in the fight for the drivers’ title, which is now a two-way contest.
With the #20 BMW M Hybrid failing to score in Barcelona due to tyre issues, the two Toyotas remain the only crews still in contention for the drivers’ title heading into the Monza finale next month.
Ferrari was Toyota’s closest rival at Barcelona, with Miguel Molina, Nicklas Nielsen and Antonio Fuoco finishing third in the #50 499P.
Toyota has scored a clean sweep of both World Championships and victories in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the team’s home race, the 6 Hours of Fuji, in the TR010 Hybrid car’s debut season.
