Dominick Cruz doesn’t think that Ciryl Gane intentionally fouls his opponents.

Next month features a UFC heavyweight title fight between two stars that have had divisive runs in the promotion.

Josh Hokit believes that Dana White is secretly rooting for him, though the promotion’s president hasn’t suggested this when speaking publicly about the challenger.

On the other hand, Gane’s last two opponents have accused him of cheating, though a former champion argues that the victim of a foul should take some responsibility.

Dominick Cruz believes that it was his mistake if someone was able to poke him in the eye

Earlier this year, Ciryl Gane claimed that he was trying to push Tom Aspinall’s face when he accidentally poked the former UFC heavyweight champion in the eye.

The Brit has still not been able to return to the Octagon due to the injuries he suffered in this fight despite it taking place over a year ago.

Gane was adamant that he wouldn’t change his style before fighting Alex Pereira in June despite the Frenchman receiving criticism for fouls for many years.

Dominick Cruz believes that ‘Bon Gamin’ doesn’t intentionally try to damage his opponents by poking them in the eye.

While fighters are supposed to be penalized for having their fingers extended, Cruz feels like an opponent’s hand getting near your eyes shouldn’t happen in the first place.

“This is my take on Ciryl Gane poking eyes… I always said, if you can poke me in my f—— eye, I’m doing something wrong,” he said on his Love & War podcast. “Like trying to hit my head is so f—— hard, if you could poke me in the eye, that’s my problem. So, we [he and TJ Dillashaw] agree on that and I think that’s why he’s not a cheater.”

Cruz did point out that he wasn’t poked in the eye many times during his career due to his style, which utilized constant movement and footwork to avoid standing right in front of his opponents.

Dominick Cruz doesn’t feel bad for Herb Dean following criticism since Ciryl Gane’s win

Alex Pereira hopes that MMA referees will improve following the various complaints he’s made about Herb Dean.

‘Poatan’ arguing that the official didn’t penalize Ciryl Gane for landing punches to the back of his head in their title fight in June has had a big impact on the fans.

While it may have changed how some feel about Pereira, it’s certainly been affecting Dean, who now receives large boos from the crowd during UFC events.

“I don’t feel bad for Herb Dean at all because we get booed all the time and everyone’s getting their a—- kicked,” Dominick Cruz said. “At least share the wealth. If you’re gonna be in the Octagon with us, you get to feel the s— too.”
