Morocco, having already secured a place in the semi-finals, completed an impeccable group-stage performance at the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations with a 6-0 triumph over Libya in their third Group A match on Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Indoor Hall in Rabat.
The Moroccan goals came from Soufiane El Mesrar (3rd, 8th, and 24th minutes), Othmane El Idrissi (12th and 30th minutes), and Bilal El Bakkali (30th minute).
This victory solidified Morocco's lead at the top of Group A, earning a perfect nine points from three consecutive wins, following a 4-0 win over Algeria and a 7-0 victory against Zambia.
The match kicked off with Morocco dominating, applying their renowned attacking style and high pressing from the outset. Within just three minutes, Soufiane El Mesrar capitalized on a pass from Idriss Raiss El Fenni to open the scoring.
Libya’s Suhaib Al-Ghoul nearly threatened with a dangerous attempt in the eighth minute, but Morocco quickly reasserted control, and El Mesrar scored his second goal shortly thereafter.
Spurred by an enthusiastic crowd, Morocco maintained their attacking vigor. A swift exchange between Ismail Amazal and Mohamed Reda Madih set up Othmane El Idrissi to net the third goal in the 12th minute.
The second half remained intense, with Morocco dictating the pace and dominating the field. Their relentless pressure resulted in El Mesrar completing his hat-trick in the 24th minute, making it 4-0.
Othmane El Idrissi then added the fifth goal in the 30th minute, followed by Bilal El Bakkali's strike in the same minute, highlighting Morocco’s offensive prowess right until the final whistle.
In a parallel game in the same group, Algeria earned a spot in the semi-finals with a 7-4 victory over Zambia at the Ibn Yassine Indoor Hall.
