The qualifiers include four players from Egypt, one each from Tunisia, Algeria and Benin, while one additional qualification spot remains available for the continent.
The tournament in Tangier has provided African players with an opportunity to secure places at the global championship, where they will compete against leading table tennis players from across the world.
Egypt dominates qualification list
Egypt leads the list of qualified players with Youssef Abdelaziz, Mohamed Elbeiali, Mahmoud Helmy and Omar Assar securing places at the championship.
The four Egyptians will represent their country at the competition as they seek to compete against some of the world’s leading players in the sport.
Their qualification also gives Egypt the largest representation among the African countries that have secured places through the tournament in Morocco.
Tunisia, Algeria and Benin earn places
Tunisia’s Wassim Essid, Algeria’s Stephane Ouiche and Benin’s Abdel-Kader Salifou have also qualified for the 2027 World Championships Finals.
Their qualification adds to Africa’s representation at the prestigious tournament and provides the players with an opportunity to test their abilities against international opposition.
Badri Mostafa of Egypt also secured qualification, bringing the number of confirmed African representatives to eight.
One qualification spot remains
With eight players already through, one additional qualification spot remains available for an African player to complete the continent’s allocation for the championship.
The remaining place is expected to sustain competition among players seeking to join the qualified athletes in Astana.
The 2027 ITTF World Championships Finals will bring together top players from different countries, offering the African representatives an opportunity to compete on the global stage.
The qualifiers will now look forward to the championship as they prepare to represent their respective countries and strengthen Africa’s presence in international table tennis.
