Junior Olaitan has attracted attention from clubs in England and Germany after a strong run of performances for Besiktas, according to Turkish newspaper Fotomac.
Several Premier League and Bundesliga sides are reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old Beninese midfielder and could make an approach during the winter transfer window.
Olaitan joined Besiktas from Goztepe in the last winter transfer window for about 5 million euros. Since moving to Istanbul, he has gradually become an important part of the team and is now considered a regular figure in the squad.
His impact has been particularly clear in the UEFA Europa League. Olaitan scored against Crystal Palace and has been directly involved in six goals in the competition this season. He has also provided two assists in the Turkish league.
Those contributions have increased his profile outside Turkey and prompted interest from clubs seeking to assess his availability. Fotomac reports that a number of English and German teams are following his progress closely, with the possibility of formal interest emerging when the transfer market reopens in the winter.
Besiktas are in a strong negotiating position should offers arrive. Olaitan’s market value is currently estimated at 12 million euros, although that figure could change depending on his performances in the coming months.
The midfielder is contracted to Besiktas until 2029, with the club holding an option to extend the agreement by a further year. That long-term deal gives the Turkish side significant control over any potential transfer discussions.
Olaitan’s next opportunity to strengthen his position comes in Besiktas’s forthcoming Turkish league fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir, which will be the club’s ninth matchday game of the season.
His performances in that match and in the remainder of the campaign could influence whether the reported interest develops into concrete approaches from Premier League or Bundesliga clubs.
