President Donald Trump has reignited his feud with LeBron James, branding the Philadelphia 76ers star as a “total disgrace” for seemingly practicing his golf swing during the national anthem.
Trump, 80, hasn’t been shy to express his displeasure with NBA legend James in recent years. The President took a bizarre swipe at James earlier this year, branding the future basketball Hall of Famer as a potential “racist.”
Despite James making the move to Trump’s beloved New York to embark on likely the final chapter of his NBA career with the 76ers, commuting to and from the Big Apple to Philly, the President has now launched another scathing attack. It comes after James was dragged into a heated exchange with a fan.
Ahead of his NBA debut for the Sixers, James was lined up alongside his teammates for the national anthem, before Philly took on and beat the defending champions, the New York Knicks.
However, James appeared to be limbering up with a golf swing and a practice shot, while his teammates stood still and silent during the national anthem.
“While listening to our National Anthem, LeBron James disrespects our Country! I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” Trump said on Truth Social, alongside a video of James during the national anthem.
Trump then demanded an apology from the NBA superstar. “LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!” Trump added.
