Barcelona have equalled a 31-year-old goalscoring record after 13 different players found the back of the net in their impressive start to the 2026/27 La Liga campaign under Hansi Flick.
The Catalan giants have been ruthless in front of goal this season, scoring 48 times in just 11 competitive matches, an average of 4.3 goals per game.
According to Barca Universal, citing Mundo Deportivo, 39 of those goals have come in La Liga, approximately 20 more than second-placed Atletico Madrid have managed.
However, beyond the impressive numbers, it is Barcelona’s ability to spread the goals across the squad that has particularly stood out.
Saturday’s 5-2 victory over Real Betis saw Eric Garcia, Rodri and Dani Olmo open their goalscoring accounts for the campaign, taking the number of different Barcelona scorers to 13.
The achievement matches a record the club previously established at the beginning of the 1995/96 league season.
Rodri marked his first Barcelona goal with a header from a corner, while Garcia also got on the scoresheet after benefiting from Pau Cubarsi’s aerial contribution.
Garcia’s effort made him the fourth Barcelona defender to score in La Liga this season, joining Xavi Espart, Joao Cancelo and Jules Kounde.
Olmo, meanwhile, ended a frustrating run of 24 matches without a goal, producing an impressive finish into the far corner.
Barcelona’s attacking form has been particularly remarkable considering that Flick’s side have maintained their scoring momentum despite the absence of Brazilian forward Raphinha.
Rather than depending solely on their attacking players, the German tactician has developed a system that allows midfielders and defenders to contribute regularly in the final third.
The goals scored by Rodri and Garcia against Betis also highlighted Barcelona’s threat from set pieces, giving opponents another problem to contend with.
With defenders increasingly joining attacks and midfielders arriving in dangerous positions, opposition teams have found it difficult to contain the Catalans by concentrating their attention on Lamine Yamal and the other forwards.
Barcelona have already scored five goals in individual matches against Elche, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord and Real Betis, while Racing suffered a heavier defeat after conceding seven.
Their attacking strength will now face a sterner examination, with fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid coming up this week.
Those encounters will offer Flick’s side an opportunity to demonstrate whether their extraordinary goalscoring form can continue against stronger opposition.
While Barcelona’s attacking statistics have been impressive, their ability to maintain that standard in major fixtures could prove crucial as the season progresses.
