Liverpool complete comeback victory against nine-man Brentford as £100million men combine - with Alexander Isak scoring on his return from injury

Liverpool's £100million men combined to complete a comeback job and inflict Brentford's first defeat of the season.

The Reds went behind to a Keane Lewis-Potter header and may have been fearing defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium for the second consecutive season.

But Yehor Yarmolyuk's red card for a headbutt on Jeremy Jacquet on the stroke of half-time promised to change the game and so it did.

First Victor Munoz equalised after an assist from Florian Wirtz, then Alexander Isak scored on his return from injury having been set up by Bradley Barcola.

Brentford's efforts to restore parity led to nothing and the Bees stung themselves again when Vitaly Janelt was sent off in added time.

The result gets Andoni Iraola back on track in the Premier League after the humbling 3-0 loss to Manchester City at Anfield last week.

But they came away with injury fears as Jeremie Frimpong was forced off just seven minutes after coming on for the second half.

More to follow.
