Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 to Arsenal at the weekend as Oliver Glasner’s men slipped into the bottom three for the first time this season.

The Reds have won just one of their seven matches in the Premier League so far this season, with four of them ending in defeat.

Liam Delap was hammered by Troy Deeney after the defeat to Arsenal. In a further insult, Ian Wright bemoaned the performance of Chris Wood.

There were, however, some positives from the defeat to Arsenal, with one player finishing top of the pops in the Premier League when it comes to one metric.

Is Murillo right? Have you seen enough from the performances under Glasner that Forest can get things right this season?

Xaver Schlager shines vs Arsenal

Despite defeat, there were a number of positive performances for Forest. Stuart Pearce picked some positives out, and it would appear as though the Reds are close to picking up some results.

Schlager was one player who deserves rave reviews for his performance against Arsenal, with some statistics showcasing just how brilliant he was.

Squawka shows that Schlager, with seven tackles, made more tackles than any other Premier League player during the latest round of fixtures.

Schlager has settled into life at the City Ground extremely well, and he looks like a very shrewd signing on a free following his release from RB Leipzig in the summer.

There is an element that perhaps Schlager sometimes lets things pass him by in games a little bit. However, these statistics show that he’s not afraid to get stuck in against some of the better teams in the league.

Schlager is currently keeping the likes of Ibrahim Sangare and Ryan Yates out of the team, and on current form it feels unlikely they’ll be getting the shirt away from the Austrian any time soon.
