That was delightful viewing for Celtic supporters, as Hearts were sent packing again in the most brutal of fashions.
After Celtic’s abject showing in the Europa League on Thursday night, where they were beaten by Benfica, Martin O’Neill opted to start Callum Osmand and Haissem Hassan on the flanks.
Osmand helped himself to a brace, as Celtic put seven past Hearts, with the youngster telling Sky Sports after the match that Hassan is ‘one of the best one-v-one players I have seen in a long time.’
Hopefully, pundits and ones Celtic fans like, such as Scott Brown and Chris Sutton, will focus more on this positive rather than talking about his lack of defending.
“I always try to give my all every time I play,” said Osmand. “If I can bring something, then I will try to do that.
“Hassan is one of the best one-v-one players I have seen in a long time. That’s what you want to do. Coming off the bench or starting. You just want to start quick and try to create something.”
One thing is for sure: O’Neill now has his starting wingers for the coming weeks because this was Celtic’s most devastating display in a long while.
It was like Ange Postecoglou was back in the dugout. The attack hasn’t flowed and ripped apart a team in years, and it was great to see.
Hassan played a huge part in that, including earning himself a rating of seven by Sofascore, while 67 Hail Hail handed him the same rating.
What’s also interesting is that Hassan has earned himself a rating of seven or above for six games straight, whether he is starting or coming off the bench.
