Former Miami Heat star Hassan Whiteside’s lavish waterfront mansion is back in the running for a sale, after going under contract for the fourth time since May.
The six-bedroom Miami Beach property is asking a whopping $14.8 million, although its latest price tag is a considerable comedown from the $19.5 million it was listed for in January 2025.
Located at 528 Lakeview Court, the gated estate offers the sort of perks that make a five-star resort look positively modest.
Built in 2014, the sprawling residence boasts 5,406 square feet of living space on a 0.41-acre lot, with around 90 feet of waterfront frontage.
And for anyone who prefers arriving by boat rather than battling Miami traffic, there is a 45-foot dock, three Jet Ski slips and direct ocean access.
Inside, the tri-level property features expansive living and dining areas, rich hardwood and marble floors, custom cabinetry and a chef’s kitchen equipped with high-end Wolf and Miele appliances.
There is even a built-in aquarium, because apparently a multimillion-dollar home needs its own aquatic attraction.
The primary suite opens onto a private terrace and includes a spa-inspired bathroom and an oversized walk-in closet.
When it comes to entertainment, the property has a state-of-the-art home theater, a gym, a custom bar and a rooftop lounge complete with a fire pit and television.
Outside, a resort-style swimming pool with a waterfall, a summer kitchen and multiple entertaining areas offer plenty of space for hosting guests in the Florida sunshine.
The listing also highlights the gated grounds and private setting in Miami Beach’s Lakeview neighborhood, offering a retreat from the city’s busier tourist hotspots.
But despite the impressive amenities, finding a buyer has apparently been something of a marathon.
The mansion has reportedly gone under contract four times since May, with the latest deal marking another attempt to secure a sale.
The home was initially listed for $19.5 million in January 2025 before being offered for $15.8 million later that year and subsequently reduced to its current $14.8 million asking price.
That represents a roughly 24 percent reduction from its original listing price, even before any final negotiations with a prospective buyer.
According to a weekly report from Douglas Elliman’s Eklund-Gomes team, the pending sale was the second-priciest residential contract among 13 Miami-Dade County properties asking $4 million or more between October 5 and October 11.
Together, those contracts represented $101.2 million in asking-price volume, down from $169.7 million across 17 deals the previous week.
The average property in the latest batch had spent 192 days on the market, suggesting even deep-pocketed buyers are taking their time before committing to luxury real estate.
Whiteside purchased the Miami Beach home in 2016 for $7.3 million, meaning the current asking price is more than double what he originally paid.
The listing was handled by Joel Lusky of The Brokerage South Florida Real Estate, LLC, and Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp, LLC.
In terms of its location, Miami Beach’s Lakeview neighborhood offers a more secluded slice of South Florida living.
With waterfront views, boating access and Miami’s beaches, restaurants and shopping within reach, it combines a private residential setting with easy access to the action.
The location may have held particular appeal for Whiteside during his years playing for the Miami Heat. Now 37, the seven-foot center spent five seasons with the team between 2014 and 2019, establishing himself as a formidable presence in the paint.
He later played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings before joining the Utah Jazz for his final NBA season in 2022.
After stepping away from the NBA, he returned to professional basketball for the 2025–26 season with the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.
During his NBA career, Whiteside became known for his shot-blocking and rebounding, earning a place on the league’s All-Defensive Second Team in 2016.
Now, it seems, his Miami Beach mansion is hoping for a slam dunk of its own in the property market.
For a buyer with $14.8 million to spare, the prize is a private waterfront compound with a pool, cinema, rooftop entertaining space and room to dock the toys.
Whether the fourth time proves lucky remains to be seen, as the property is still under contract rather than officially sold.
