John Cena has stepped away from the squared circle permanently, but he brought back memories of his iconic WWE entrance theme for long-time fans. The 17-time WWE World Champion rapped the song during a UK radio appearance. The iconic performance came to life while promoting his new movie, Matchbox: The Movie.
John Cena recently appeared on Capital Radio in the United Kingdom. He is currently promoting Matchbox: The Movie on Apple TV. However, his appearance turned into a nostalgic WWE moment. Instead of only giving a regular interview, Cena performed “My Time Is Now” live.
The theme, also known as “My Time Is Now,” remains one of wrestling’s most recognizable entrance themes. Cena recorded it with his cousin, Tha Trademarc. It was released on his debut album, You Can’t See Me, in 2005.
Interestingly, following the album’s release, it reached No. 15 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The song became Cena’s signature entrance theme in March 2005. It replaced his earlier theme, “Basic Thuganomics.”
The Time Is Now remains an eternal part of John Cena’s legacy. Since 2005, the song has become closely connected to Cena’s wrestling persona. It remained a major part of his WWE presentation for years. After a legendary career, the iconic wrestler stepped away from the ring in December 2024 after suffering a loss to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Even after retiring, the iconic theme continues to bring back joyful memories for fans.
