Haley and Hanna Cavinder are not as identical as they look.

The former college basketball stars, known as The Cavinder Twins on social media, set the record straight on PEOPLE’s WAG World series about whether they are really fraternal twins despite their seemingly identical appearances.

“We’re fraternal, but I think we’re identical too... I don’t know if the doctors diagnosed us the right way,” jokes Haley, 25, alongside her sister, Hanna, also 25, on the recent episode released exclusively on the PEOPLE app on Friday, Oct. 9.

Hanna adds, “Yeah, I agree. They said we are fraternal, but I would say that we are more identical than not. So I’m just going to go with identical.”

The twins don’t make it easy for unfamiliar viewers to tell them apart online, often styling their recognizable blonde hair the same and sporting similar outfits in their videos posted across their joint Instagram and TikTok accounts, which have amassed approximately 5 million followers.

Therefore, Haley and Hanna shared the best way people can tell them apart at first glance.

“Hanna has a better nose,” she says.

“Yeah, I got hit playing basketball,” explains Hanna. “So she has a random nose,” quips Haley.

Both sisters played college basketball at Fresno State before transferring to the University of Miami. They officially retired from the sport in 2025 after choosing to play out their final year of NCAA eligibility for the Miami Hurricanes. They previously retired from the sport following the 2022-23 season.

“So I got hit before college, this was in high school,” recalls Hanna. “And I told my parents, I was like, ‘I’m not going to college unless I get surgery.’ And then I got my nose fixed. So that’s why I’m always like, ‘I get the better side’.”

Looks aside, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models noted that their personalities are huge giveaways when trying to tell them apart.

“We have different personalities,” shares Haley. “I think you just have to get to know us and then people are like, ‘Okay, that’s Hanna, that’s Haley’,” she says.

Hanna agrees, “Our personalities are very different.”

The twins don’t shy away from sharing personal details about their lives across their social media platforms. In July 2025, they got identical breast augmentations done at the same time and shared numerous updates online throughout the healing process in the months that followed.

“When it comes to feeling like your most confident self, whatever it is, I’m always for that, for females,” Haley told PEOPLE in May of why they’re so transparent. “Whatever you want to do, whatever you want to stand with, it’s your body and how you feel your most confident self is what you should do at the end of the day.”

“You only have one life,” added Haley, as her twin sister agreed, “Exactly.”

Hanna, for her part, chimed in with a message about “body positivity,” telling PEOPLE 10 months after they underwent their breast procedures that part of the decision to be open about the surgery has to do with her belief that what goes around comes around.

“I would just say, whatever you spread will always come back to [you], whether it’s body positivity, anything in life,” she said. “If you’re happy with yourself, what else matters?”
