Manchester United are currently dealing with a growing list of injury concerns, but one of their players has provided a welcome boost.

Manchester United’s goalkeeping department has undergone significant changes as the club looks to build greater competition and depth between the posts.

Senne Lammens is United’s current no.1, while the club has also continued investing in younger players who could eventually challenge for first-team opportunities.

Andre Onana’s departure on loan has created another opening for United to assess their options across the squad.

That makes the development of the academy goalkeepers particularly important, with Carrington providing an environment where emerging talents can learn alongside experienced professionals.

United have already demonstrated a willingness to recruit promising young shot-stoppers from elsewhere rather than rely exclusively on players developed internally.

One of their latest additions has now provided supporters with an encouraging glimpse of his progress on the training ground.

Manchester United goalkeeper Kit Margetson has shared a positive update after returning to full training ahead of the Como clash, posting a series of photographs alongside the club’s other goalkeepers with the caption, “Good to be back out there.”

The images offer an encouraging sign for the young Welshman.

Kit Margetson joined United from Swansea City in July 2026 after spending several years progressing through the Welsh club’s academy.

He had been with Swansea since the under-15 level and earned a reputation as a promising goalkeeper before moving to Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Cymru Premier, where he made 34 appearances and kept 10 clean sheets.

His performances helped the Welsh side secure qualification for European competition, while his progress also earned him recognition at international level.

Margetson made his Wales Under-21 debut against Belarus in March 2026, adding another milestone to a season that accelerated his development.

His move to Manchester United represents a significant step in his career, but he is expected to develop through the club’s youth pathway rather than immediately challenge for a regular place in the senior side.
