WWE Signs International Prospect To NXT Contract

WWE has signed a new international prospect, Hidetora Hanada, a Japanese athlete, to an NXT deal, according to PWInsider.com. Hanada was born in Japan and previously played football for Colorado State, in addition to competing in sumo wrestling.

The report highlighted that Hanada participated in the 2018 World Games in Japan, the 2019 Games in Taiwan, and the 2022 World Games in Alabama. He transitioned to football in 2022. This information was further confirmed by WrestlePurists, which mentioned that Hanada had tried out for the NFL but was not signed by any team.

Standing at 6'1" and weighing 280 pounds, Hanada signed a WWE NIL deal in February 2025. He visited WWE Headquarters, as shown in a post on his Instagram in May of the same year, just before he graduated from college in December.
