Leeds United edged closer to promotion to the Premier League by beating Oxford United on Good Friday.
The Whites had seen both Burnley and Sheffield United overcome Watford and Cardiff City, respectively, prior to their clash at the Kassam Stadium. However, a professional performance saw Daniel Farke's side match the results of those around them to move back to the summit.
The victory means Leeds have the chance to seal promotion to the Premier League on Easter Monday if they can beat Stoke City at 3pm and Burnley avoid defeat to Sheffield United in the teatime kick off. If Leeds were to draw against the Potters and Scott Parker's side beat the Blades, the Whites would be all-but promoted thanks to their considerably greater goal difference.
With just three games remaining of the regular season, Leeds find themselves in a superb position to return to the top-flight, while Opta's latest predicted Championship table shows that. The Whites are predicted to finish on 97.38 points with Burnley just behind them on 96.79.
As for Chris Wilder's side, meanwhile, they are looking at achieving 90.51 points. If we were to round these figures to the nearest whole number, Leeds would finish on 97 points, six clear of the Blades in third spot.
Burnley would also finish on 97 points as well, according to Opta's calculations. This would mean the title would be decided on goal difference, with Leeds taking the crown.
Farke's team are nine goals better off than Burnley, which would be a considerable gap to close between now and the end of the season. As for Sheffield United, they would have to settle for the play-offs with Opta predicting that Sunderland, Bristol City and Coventry City would join them for the end-of-season showcase.
