Dolphins bring back 2026 draft pick on practice squad after release

The Miami Dolphins have been churning the bottom of their roster and their practice squad throughout the team's 2026 campaign, and earlier this week, they did just that by bringing in offensive lineman Christian Haynes and releasing DJ Campbell.

On Friday, after Campbell passed through waivers unclaimed, he signed back to Miami's practice squad. The 23-year-old appeared in 50 games and started 43 in his four seasons as Texas, earning All-SEC honors once. The Dolphins took him in the sixth round of this year's draft, but he's been a healthy scratch through their first six games.

To open up a spot for Campbell on the practice squad, the Dolphins waived offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze. The 26-year-old played at Frostburg State from 2019-22 and at Maryland in 2023. He had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders, DC Defenders and Houston Gamblers before joining Miami this offseason.
