Clarins hosted a starry rooftop party during the races in Texas to introduce the new Double Serum formulation
When the action at COTA, Austin’s Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Texas, quieted its engines — at least for the night — the Formula 1 celebration continued on a rooftop in the city’s downtown with Clarins making its newest launch the star of the show.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, during Formula 1 weekend, the French beauty brand cast The Modern’s poolside rooftop with its signature glow — and set up a mini omakase experience — to introduce the new Double Serum Eye Brightening + Depuffing Anti-Aging Concentrate, skin care that addresses the appearance of the eye area with a two-in-one formula packed with six types of plant extracts and five active molecules.
Christina Ricci, Emma Roberts, Damson Idris, Gavin Casalegno, Lily Muni He (golfer and fiancée to Atlassian Williams’ F1 driver Alex Albon) and more stepped out in their Austin best to ring in the evening.
Speaking with PEOPLE on the carpet Ricci — who is set to star in the fourth and final season of Yellowjackets — reflected on her more than 20-year journey using Clarins. “You know what?” began the Addams Family star, who wore a shimmery olive green dress, “I’ve been a huge fan of Clarins since I was 19 years old. I feel like it was the first time I had some money when I was in London and went to Harvey Nichols and was like, ‘Let’s get some beauty products,’ and got amazing Clarins products that I’ve kept in my routine for — I’m 46 now, so for 27 years.”

Everything is bigger in Texas, a statement that especially applies to the buzzy Formula 1. But taking a moment to pause and reflect is more Ricci’s speed.
“I think no matter who you are right now in life, we have to take stock of the little things that make us happy. Looking at all the horrors and all the darkness in the world and trying to understand why we’re here and what the point is, I think that we have to just say, ‘Oh, I’m reading an amazing book,’ and, ‘Oh, this glass of wine is fantastic,’ and, ‘Oh my God, this sunset is beautiful.’ So I think right now is an amazing time for people to take stock of all the little things that make us human and make us appreciate being here and make us want to keep doing it.”
The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Casalegno also talked about his Clarins routine — and a secret detail about his outfit, which was appropriately rodeo-ready and made up of pieces taken from the show’s season 3 wardrobe (but never worn). “I remember I got a facial done from Clarins in New York a while back. When I tell you that my face was glowing for days,” he said, adding that while he may not be a guy big into skin care (yet), he focuses on cleansing and exfoliation.

After a run-in with Casalegno at the fête, Off Campus and The Pitt’s Jalen Thomas Brooks said, “I also grew up not knowing anything about beauty. When I started using Clarins...it made everything super easy. I feel like my bar for beauty standard is up” — so is the standard for his hair care. “What’s the curl routine? I didn’t have a curl routine for the last five years. I would just wake up and air-dry, but now I use this moisturizing cream, leave-in conditioner, all of it, so I figured it out.”
Hot off the paddock was Lily, who slipped out of her vintage Prada lipstick skirt (a reference to Sex and the City’s Charlotte York and a designer piece she’s been searching for about a decade) and into a forest green minidress. With Rebecca Donaldson, who is dating Atlassian Williams’ Carlos Sainz Jr., among the crowd, Lily opened up about having girlfriends by her side amid the “traveling circus” that becomes the races.

“The fact that we have all these girls who are similar ages who share similar interests and live really similar lives and get to travel all over the world together sometimes,” she began, “It’s just nice to have that bond and that friendship with the girls at the track. I think we’re all so different and it’s really interesting to learn from them. They have so many interesting tips and personality traits that I find really admirable. We just have a really good time together.”
Said Donaldson: “A lot of us girls are close friends and we’ve become friends because of our environment and situation, which is great. The boys are all competitors, so it’s nice that the girls can put that aside and just enjoy one another’s company.”
