Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah has refused to comment on reported transfer interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old has established himself as an England regular since his move to Leverkusen last summer and his form for the Bundesliga outfit has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

It’s understood that Arsenal launched an approach to sign him over the summer, before opting to bring in Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, and he remains on the Gunners’ radar amid slight uncertainty surrounding Ben White’s long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Real Madrid are both keeping close tabs on his development ahead of a possible bid next year.

A move back to Liverpool is also a possibility, thanks to a buy-back clause they inserted in his Leverkusen contract, and the Reds may look to finalise a deal in 2027 as they look to replace club captain Virgil van Dijk.

Quansah, who can play at right-back or centre-back, is therefore likely to be spoilt for choice next summer, although he remained coy about his future when asked about transfer interest by German outlet BILD.

“I just have to concentrate on playing this season,” Quansah admitted ahead of Leverkusen’s Europa League clash against OFI Crete on Thursday.

“I'll play as many games as possible and try to improve. There's nothing more I can do.”

Jarell Quansah: Mikel Arteta’s dream signing?

Mikel Arteta has built arguably the best squad in Europe during his time as Arsenal manager, although he clearly has a preference in the transfer market: signing versatile defenders capable of playing at full-back and centre-back.

During his reign to date, Arteta have signed the aforementioned Konsa, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, Piero Hincapie, Jurrien Timber and Cristhian Mosquera, all of whom fit that description perfectly.

Quansah would be yet another example of this if Arsenal win the race for his signature next year, although the England star is expected to be among the hottest properties in the 2027 transfer market, meaning a substantial fee will likely be required to lure him away from Bayer Leverkusen.
