Injury update delivers huge blow to Patriots offense in Week 8

The New England Patriots will travel south to Hard Rock Stadium this week for an AFC East showdown with the Miami Dolphins, riding the momentum of their first win this season. The franchise's most recent injury update delivered a significant blow to its offensive firepower heading into the matchup.

The Patriots announced on Saturday that they will be without two star skill players this week: running back TreVeyon Henderson will miss the game due to illness, and wide receiver A.J. Brown will miss the game due to an ankle/knee injury.

Brown was one of the franchise's biggest offseason acquisitions and was intended to be a top target for Drake Maye. However, he suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener against Seattle and was sidelined until Week 6. He has played in the team's past two games and has 101 receiving yards this season, but has been targeted heavily since his return.

Henderson has served as the team's No. 2 running back and has been efficient in his limited role this season. He has 203 rushing yards and one touchdown on 52 carries so far this year, along with five receptions for 45 yards.
