Ever since the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble when Drew McIntyre injured CM Punk, their onscreen rivalry has just become more and more personal. The hate between McIntyre and Punk led to heated exchanges in a Strap Match and a bloody Hell in a Cell match.

According to McIntyre during an interview on Bradley Martin's "RAWTALK PODCAST," the heat between them is very real.

"He's a piece of crap," McIntyre stated plainly. I avoid him whenever I can avoid him." He then emphasized that Punk has had several altercations with fans over the years, using that to prove his rival genuinely isn't a good person.

"He tries to play – now he's different, he's better at hiding it now than he used to be, like back in the day everybody couldn't stand him; he was so full of himself," McIntyre recalled, harkening back to Punk's WWE exit and how he believes it was a disrespectful move toward WWE after years of elevating him. Despite his feelings, McIntyre claims he doesn't allow that to get in the way of putting on a good show for fans. "I can be professional. I'm very good at my job. You put us together, you don't have to find the real in it – like, he doesn't like me, I can't stand him, you put us together, it's magic for the audience."

Drew McIntyre continued to open about his disdain for CM Punk

Drew McIntyre further claims  he could beat CM Punk in a legitimate fight, laughing off 'The Second City Saint's' infamous attempt to establish himself as an MMA fighter post-WWE. "I will crush you! I'm giant and Scottish, do you know how many fights I've been in?" he laughingly asked. "I can't stand him. He's a genuine piece of crap, good at hiding it these days."

McIntyre opined that Punk has burned bridges everywhere else and WWE is his last chance to continue wrestling, which is why he plays along with the corporate side of the promotion and is good-natured.

"Behind those eyes he's crying, because he wants to be a d**k non-stop; very Charles Manson-like," McIntyre said. "Just talks to the audience, convinces them he's such a good guy, they buy into his BS."

All the love Punk continues to get from the audience rubs McIntyre the wrong way, but still admitted that his rival has a legitimate love for pro wrestling unlike some of the other wrestlers who come into the industry today after first establishing prior careers or wanting to use WWE to jump into Hollywood.
